One of the primary ways of fulfilling this role is to obtain permission from the private landowner before entering their land. At Whitetails Unlimited, we believe that a good hunter/landowner relationship is the key to ensuring that our beloved tradition will not be put into jeopardy.

Once a hunter has been granted permission to hunt on private land, they should learn to treat that land as if it were their own. It is the lack of respect and poor attitudes that have affected the chances for responsible sportsmen to legally enter and use private land for outdoor recreation.
In 1987, Whitetails Unlimited reacted to this issue, spearheading one of our most successful programs dealing with hunter/landowner relations in the country. Since that time, Project POLITE (Permission Of Landowner In order To Enter) has opened the doors to millions of acres of prime habitat for regulated hunting.
Most sportsmen now realize that it is the private landowner who holds the key to ensuring future generations of hunting, and with programs like Project POLITE available to all, Whitetails Unlimited will continue to support those who share in the belief of hunting responsibly.
