Whitetails Unlimited recently granted more than $10,000 to the Buckeye Outdoors Youth Education & Shooting Center located in Doylestown, Ohio. The organization is a non-profit dedicated to promoting firearm, archery, and hunter safety education to school-aged youth. The largest program is shotgun which consists of trap shooting and sporting clays and competes within the Scholastic Clay Target Program.
BOYESC got its start in 2005 as the Chippewa Trap Shooting Club. Over the years the group expanded into archery and hunter safety with the shotgun program still at its center. The shotgun program boasts more than 70 youth from several counties and school districts. Students also have the opportunity to transition their shotgun skills into an upland bird hunt offered by the BOYESC pursuing pheasant, quail, and chucker.
