Whitetails Unlimited recently granted more than $10,000 to the Michiana Handicap Hunt for youth based out of Goshen, Indiana. The group was founded with the belief that children between the ages of 8 and 18 whose lives have been otherwise focused on their disability, illness, or limited resources could also have the opportunity for an organized hunting experience. Although they were officially given non-profit status in the summer of 2023, members of the organization have been doing this kind of work for years.
Michiana’s board of directors oversees and ensures each dream hunt is a success. Special arrangements are made to accommodate the need of each individual hunter to enable a safe and enjoyable hunt. The board of directors approves each candidate through an application process and hopes to take more than 25 kids hunting during the fall-winter season.
