Whitetails Unlimited recently granted $17,000 to the Jackson County Georgia 4-H program on behalf of the Jackson County Georgia Chapter. Although the 4-H program offers a variety of outdoor and agricultural education opportunities, the primary recipient of the funds will be the shooting sports program. The disciplines offered are shotgun, 5 meter BB, archery, and rimfire with archery being the most popular.
The Jackson County 4-H Archery program began in 2011 and has more than tripled in size since then. The archery program is designed to teach youth safety and appreciation of archery equipment. It offers a way to learn how to safely shoot for hunting and fun and as well. Also, the 4-H program offers a hunter’s education course to help youth gain knowledge about hunting safely.
